Take a step back in time to an age-old nation
Ethiopia – a country where culture and traditions date back over three thousand years. In this land, the same wild, dramatic scenery we marvel at today once played host to the earliest known human lives.
From the moment you arrive, the Ethiopian calendar banishes the western world, when the date drops back seven years into the past. Once you leave the modern energy of Addis Ababa, you will feel time has actually slowed to a stop.
This is a country where time-honoured traditions, languages and celebrations from over 80 ethnic groups continue untouched by the world around them.

In fact, the ceremonies and rituals of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church allow a glimpse at the world of the Old Testament.
In Ethiopia, age-old churches are carved out of stone. They stand as proud monuments to the power and wealth of one of the greatest civilisations of the ancient world.
Take a step back into a landscape of extremity
This hidden world bears some of the highest peaks on the continent and also one of the lowest and hottest places on the planet.

The craggy fingers of the jagged Simien Mountains offer jaw-dropping scenery. In contrast, the scorching Danakil depression is filled with lunar landscapes of sulphur fumaroles. Between these two extremes, giant waterfalls drop into white-water rivers and stretching plains host unique wildlife.
